Pre-Shoot Prep List
In order for us to work our magic and stay efficient we ask that the property be photo ready before the photographer arrives. Less is more in this instance and simplifying spaces is going to make a dramatic difference in how the home is captured.
Outside
Cars, 4wheelers, tractors, trailers out of the drive way
Lawn and garden equipment/tools put away
Patio and deck spaces cleaned and furniture staged with cushions.
Grill cover off
Kid toys neatly organized or put away
Leaves removed and snow shoveled on decks and paths if needed.
Inside
Turn on all lights. Ceiling, scones, under cabinet lights, and lamps. Leave fans off but their lights on.
Pull back all window curtains and push up all window shades.
Simplify all horizontal surfaces.
Remove Kleenex boxes, animal items and plug in night lights from all the rooms.
Tuck cables behind furniture, tvs, and appliances.
Kitchen
Counters decluttered- no soaps, sponges, rags/towels, food(fruit bowls are ok), drinks, papers/mail, dish racks, paper towels, electronics, animal bowls, trash cans, or compost bins.
Small kitchen appliances and accessories are ok.
Ex. Coffee maker, toaster, mixer, knife block, cutting boards, jars/canisters, utensil container and flowers.
Bathroom
Please remove all personal items from the counters. If the shower has glass doors, remove personal items from there.
Ex. Toothbrush, mouth wash, hair and skin products, razors, soaps, makeup, hair brush, trays, cosmetic mirror, candles, cotton swabs and ear cleaners.Remove toilet brush/wand, plunger and trash bins.
Things like flowers or fake plants are ok.
Bedroom
Simplify all horizontal surfaces by hiding personal items on the bureau, dresser and night stand, jewelry, charging cables, electronics, sleeping devices, books, clocks, radios, candles and picture frames should all be hidden away.
Remove clothes, robes, shoes, dog beds/crates, trash cans, toys and laundry baskets.
We don’t photograph closets unless they are staged walk-in closets.
Mudroom
Remove shoes, dog leashes/collars, excessive coats, hats and mittens, hand warmers, outdoor recreational equipment, keys, bowls, bags, and messy rugs.
Areas we don’t shoot
There are parts of a home we usually don’t capture unless we are told to.
