HDR vs. Flash Photography
For real estate, we shoot in two different styles. HDR and Flambient(flash+ambient). Both styles of shooting produce high quality photos, but have their own look and processing complexity. See the difference below.
HDR Photography
A High Dynamic Range photo is a single photo made up of 3-5 auto blended photos at various exposure levels. This standard real estate shooting technique creates a well balanced photo by brightening up the darker parts and lowering the brighter parts of a photo. For interiors, the only source of light used is the natural light coming in from the windows and the lights in the room. This method is great if you want simple yet professional photos or you just don’t have a lot of time to spend onsite.
Flambient Photography
Flambient is an added step to the HDR shooting process that makes a huge difference in the crispness and look of a photo. After taking the HDR photo set, a hand full of flash shots will be taken around the room to help brighten it up and display the room colors accurately. We process each shot by manually blending the HDR+flash exposures together to create one luxurious photo. From onsite to editing, this style of shooting is more intricate and produces a high end look. Great for bringing your brand and marketing to the next level.
